Will a rogue antispyware program steal your credit card # if entered, or just take that one payment?

My dad was gullible enough to pay $50 via credit card to a fake, rogue antispyware program called PC Antispyware 2010, and I want to know if it will steal my dad's credit card number, or just take that one payment without keeping his credit card number in any records to manipulate.
