Sciatica nerve damage?

After 7 months of waiting the VA is only giving me 10% for what they call lumbar strain and sciatica? When, Sciatica is caused be disc problem such as herniation or deterioration. I can't run, lift over 35 pounds, or play with my children on the floor. This is worth more then 10%, it is ruining my life. DidI mention that in the military I was HUMINT which is physically demanding. I can't join the DIA with this disability, unless I am sat behind a desk. In either case, my dreams are ruined. What do I do?
