Abnormal/heavy period?

The abnormalities started last month when I had an incredibly ling period, mine usually lasts about 6 days abd is very light but this one was much about twice that. Then, about just 2 weeks later I got my period for this month. This months is much heavier, and is involving much more cramping, which I almost NEVER have. Even after 4 midol. I am still young so it could just be irregular but I was wondering if something could be wrong? please and thank you.
