Ideas on a Stratocaster vs. a Telecaster?

I think you should go with the telecaster. The strat has a far more pop-rock or punk-rock feel, and it sounds less rock n roll than the telecaster. Plus it's got gorgeous body work, just be careful where you buy it from.
